A MacOS X Cocoa compatible Application Platform and Suite for the Zaurus
QuantumSTEP is a complete Application Platform (GUI libraries, X-Server) and Application Suite (PIM, Browser, etc.) for the Zaurus.
It provides a MacOS X like operating environment with status menu bar, a file manager, application menu bars, etc. as well as applications (addresses, dates, notes, image viewer, browser, etc). Handwriting is prepared.
Being programmed in Objective-C using Zaurus-X-gcc on Xcode you can even port Cocoa based applications to this platform on your MacOS X machine.
Internally, it uses the mySTEP Foundation&AppKit libraries which are based on mGStep / GNUstep.
Installation is straightforward. Just unpack and copy the .ipk and .mypkg files that you find in "Install on Zaurus" to your Zaurus and install to internal memory. Launch by clicking on the QuantumSTEP application icon.
