Passphrase Generator
by Ghost on 11/16/2004
About: A utility to create random passphrases for Opie
This tool is a passphrase generator for use in Unix embedded environments supporting Opie (the Open Palm Integrated Environment), such as the Sharp Zaurus PDA or the Compaq iPAQ.
It was inspired by the Diceware algorithm for generating passphrases, where dices are used to select random words from a list. Instead of throwing dices, this tool uses the Unix entropy pool which is believed to provide randomness of quality at least as good as dice throws.

PIMPrint
by Ghost on 11/16/2004
About: Search, format and print PIM data.
PIMPrint gives the zaurus the missing overall PIM data search, show and print feasibility. Often you can remember tokens or marked sections. In this cases you can search for this tokens, see the result in a self definable manner and finally in case of a preinstalled LPRng, PIMPrint gives you also printer configuration and print functionality. Beside you also can transfer the result per infrared interface to a other IR device ;-). Special attention was spend to the highly configurable search and view functionallity based on xml filter files.
Notes:
- Two releases are available: Due to the libstdc++libc6.1-2.so dependency one package encapsulates the library, too. It will be installed in the /usr/lib directory and a static link will be created. In case you still installed the library take the version without this library.
- The application is based onto the LPRng print spooler available for the zaurus. Please first install all necessary packages to run the spooler.
- LPRng seems to conflict during print if an (other) network printer is specified but not available. In such cases remove the printer and it should work.

Prozect
by Ghost on 11/16/2004
About: hierarchical outliner and todo list
Prozect is a hierarchical outliner and todo list application for the Sharp Zaurus. Its features include:
- Mix item types in the same outline. I prefer to make a heading entry, with todo items underneath it.
- Per item notes and due dates
- Creation date logged and accessible for each entry
- Outline stored as text file, compatible with Emacs Outline Mode
- Undelete
- Source code under GPL
- Works with Open Zaurus 3.2,3.3 / Opie 1.0, Sharp ROM 3.10 and Sharp ROM 2.37<1li>
- QWhatsThis mode (balloon help) works under the Sharp ROMS, grab [this] if you want it to work in your own applications.
- 1.1 update: more keyboard shortcuts (most requested feature)
- 1.1 update: better interaction with Emacs outline mode
Prozect was inspired by [Progect], a Palm OS application by Laurent Burgbacher.
Prozect's source code started out as [ZOutline] by Serge Stinkwich.
ZOutline works only under qvfb and accesses two compiled-in outlines.
The source code for Prozect 1.0 is available on the [homepage] without restriction. A free, save-disabled demo and a
US$7 full-function compiled executable (ipkg) are available at [Handango.com].
The Handango download includes a patch file to bring the source tree to 1.1.0.
Please purchase a copy of the executable if you find Prozect useful, so that I can continue to work on this and
other open source projects.

by Dmitri Brechalov on 10/18/2006
About: PyMoney is a personal financial assistant for personal use. It can help you with your family budget, for instance. The program can work with several accounts in different currencies, transfer money from one account to another.
The program is highly portable, cause it is written in Python language using PyQt library. This version is intended to use on Sharp Zaurus PDA, but also works on any UNIX-like system with Python >= 2.3, Qt version 2.3 or 3 and PyQt installed. It has been tested on Debian and RedHat 9. On Sharp Zaurus it uses Qtopia environment.

QTJournal
by Ghost on 11/16/2004
About: A QT Journal / Diary Program
QTJournal is a Journal/Diary application for the Sharp Zaurus. It allows for creating, editing, searching and deleting unlimited journal entries. You can have multiple journal entries on the same day, password protection and configurable font sizes.
QTJournal depends on the latest Trolltech SDK (QTE 1.6.0) so you will need libqtopia.so installed. I have a copy of the Trolltech packages lib on the QTJournal page for convenience.
Fixes for this version:
- Removal of edit button
- Addition About, Config and Paypal Screens
- Font size config (there's isn't a font you can change the size of)
- Basic Password support (stops prying eyes)
- some layout rearrangement.. mainly to accomodate the above.
- Oh and I finally got rid of that this-program-wont-work that the sharp software installer kept saying about the qtj ipk.
- loading up the onscreen keyboard doesn't cover the input textbox anymore..
- rotation support (woohoo)
- 640x480 support etc
