Opie-Remote

About: remote control emulator
Opie-remote is a remote control emulator for the Compaq iPaq and the Sharp Zaurus. It requires lirc to run. There are lirc ipkgs for the iPaq in the Handhelds.org feed. You must first install the lirc-modules-[kernel version] ipkg, and then the lirc ipkg with the -force-depends option. The Zaurus is supported, but requires you to compile from lirc's CVS. Zaurus support should be in lirc 0.6.6 and up. Check the learn tab for installation and usage instructions. (Opie-remote is now a part of Opie)
Update: If you are using the Sharp rom image on your Zaurus, you can find a suitable lirc package here .

I was unhappy with the package manager on the Zaurus. It was clumsy, bad error reporting, confusing, bad ui etc etc. I started to make a replacement application for it, but only finished half of it. I realized that part of the problem was the underlying packaging system. There was no shared library to access the data and make commands. Everything was being done via process calls. It was pretty nasty. So I am putting this on break while a library is being created. For those that want to try it out it is only good for feeds and wont install local applications, but it will give you full error reporting if an error occurs.

The procps 3.2.3 utilities, compiled for the Sharp Zaurus. Tested on an SL-C860 running pdaXrom 1.1rc2 ('Kathrin'). Should work okay on other roms, since the only dependencies are glibc and libproc, which is supplied.

This is a Python DB-API 2.0 compliant extension for the SQLite relational database management system, on the Sharp Zaurus. It requires a working install of both Python and SQLite. See http://www.killefiz.de/zaurus/showdetail.php for information on where to obtain these.
This module was originally inspired by MySQLdb Python interface to MySQL.
Much of the initial source code related to Python extension writing in this
module was done with the help of MySQLdb. Many thanks to Andy Dustman for
his excellent work with MySQLdb, and Gerhard Haring for his direct
contributions to this project in both experience and code from his work on
the pypgsql extension.
